Description:
This position will manage the transfer program at both locations. This includes scheduling intakes from transfer partners based on space, capacity for care, adoptions, and flow through of animals. This position also works to transfer out animals who would benefit from breed specific, special needs, or foster based rescue groups. The transfer coordinator provides oversight for transfers and ensures medical history, behavior notes, and other records are entered into the database with accuracy and attention to detail. The transfer coordinator also administers vaccinations, preventatives, and other medical care in accordance with APA policies and procedures.  One year experience in animal health or welfare required and the ability to speak to medical and behavioral characteristics of dogs and cats. This position works collaboratively with other departments and external partners. Friendly customer service skills and computer literacy required. Must be able to lift 50lbs and stand for periods of five hours. Must also have a valid driver’s license. This position starts at $18/hour, commensurate with experience.
