Take a Shelter Dog On a Date

There were 41 dog dates the week of Valentine’s Day when APA started the unique enrichment program, which provided hours and hours of time out of the shelter for dogs that really needed it. Zev even got adopted after his date went so well.

Because of the program’s success, APA Olivette will start offering dog dates daily.

Who can take a dog out on a date?

Anyone 18 years and older with a valid government issued state ID can take a shelter dog out on a date.

Which APA Olivette dogs can go out on a date?

Any heartworm negative animal that is available for adoption, 6 months or older and 40+ pounds.

When can a dog go out on a date?

During APA Olivette Adoption Center Hours:

Monday/Tuesday/Thursday: 10am to 6pm

Wednesday/Friday: 11am to 7pm

Sunday/Saturday: 10am to 4pm

The latest pick up time is three hours before close. Please drop off by 30 minutes to closing time.
