Position: Full-time or part-time
Join our team and help animals find loving homes! This position supports the veterinarian and another surgery assistant in high quality/ high volume spay/neuter and other surgical needs for animals at the APA. The surgery assistant preps animals for surgery, assists the veterinarian, and monitors the health and well-being of surgery patients. This position administers oral and injectable medication under the direction of a veterinarian. This position also prepares and cleans the surgery room, sanitizes instruments, and makes surgery packs. At least one year experience in animal handling required. Must be able to safely move and restrain animals using fear free techniques, stand for a period of 5 hours, and lift 50 pounds. This position starts at $16/hour.
