Request for Proposal (RFP)  Graphic Design

1. Introduction

The Animal Protective Association of Missouri (APA) is an innovative and progressive leader in animal welfare, dedicated to bringing people and pets together, advancing humane education, and creating programs beneficial to the human-animal bond. With over a 102-year history in the St. Louis region, the APA helps over 6,000 pets find safe loving homes each year. Thousands more are helped through wellness, outreach, and supportive programs that keep pets healthy and with the people who love them.

We are seeking a talented and experienced graphic designer to create a suite of editable templates for our internal team to utilize. Join us in our mission to create a world where every pet has a loving home!

Your creativity will play a critical role in promoting our initiatives and inspiring action in our community, especially as animal shelters across the country are critically full. Your creative visuals will not only help raise awareness but also drive the adoption of pets in our care, creating space for more pets in need. Together, we can make a meaningful impact on the lives of pets and people in our community and beyond.

2. Project Scope

APA is looking for a creative genius to design a suite of eye-catching and impactful templates for our internal team. These templates will be used across various marketing and communication materials, helping us to streamline our design process and ensure brand consistency.

3. Strategic Needs Assessment:

  • Collaborate with APA to determine the optimal number and format of brochure templates for our main pillars (e.g., adoption, wellness, and education) as well as specific/targeted program (e.g., volunteering, giving, fostering, outreach programs). This may involve one multi-purpose brochure, a series of targeted brochures, or a combination of the two approaches.
  • Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of our current marketing materials (if applicable) and suggest improvements.

4. Specific Deliverables:

  • Main Pillar Brochures: Design a series of brochures or a single, multi-purpose brochure for various APA initiatives, considering the most effective approach based on target audience and content needs.
  • Signage & Kennel Materials:
    • Kennel Information Cards: Design templates for our frequently used kennel information cards.
    • Enclosure Signage: Create informative signage for animal enclosures detailing personalities and needs.
    • Directional Signage: Develop clear and concise directional signage to help visitors navigate the shelter.
  • Informational Posters: Design informative posters educating visitors about responsible pet ownership, spaying/neutering benefits, or the importance of adopting.
  • Flyers & Print Materials: Develop templates for flyers and other printed materials promoting events, fostering, volunteering, education programs, fundraising campaigns, and adoption promotions.
  • TV Graphics: Design a library of editable graphic elements for use in television PSAs and other video content.
  • Social Media Graphics: Create a collection of customizable templates for various social media platforms to promote adoptable pets, events, and general APA content.
  • Email Marketing Graphics: Design templates for email campaigns, including headers, footers, and sidebars, to promote APA’s initiatives, events, and fundraising efforts.
  • Merchandise Graphics: Create designs for merchandise such as t-shirts, mugs, and tote bags that can be sold or used as promotional items for APA.
  • Annual Report Graphics: Design elements for APA’s annual report, including cover design, infographics, and charts to visually represent the organization’s impact and achievements.
  • Additional Graphics:
    • Infographics
    • Custom Illustrations
    • Pet Spotlights
    • Donation Materials (e.g., thank you cards, appeal graphics)
    • Event Posters & Banners

5. Canva Integration

All final templates must be fully functional and editable within the Canva platform. We require clear and concise instructions for our team to easily customize the templates with text, images, and branding elements.

6. Brand Identity
