Description:
This position provides pathway planning for animals to ensure efficient flow through and reduce length of stay. This is critical to reduce stress and illness in the shelter environment, increase capacity for care, and ensure space is available to animals who need it. This position maintains the spay/neuter surgery schedule and works with the veterinary team for other surgical and shelter medicine needs. The population manager works collaboratively with many other departments including foster, transfer, and enrichment coordinators to identify animals needing additional program support. This position also helps identify animals needing additional marketing on social media and/or improved website profile. Three years’ experience in animal health or welfare required and knowledge of and ability to speak to medical and behavioral characteristics of dogs and cats required. Leadership or program management experience required. This position works with a database and computer literacy also required. This position starts at $21/hour, commensurate with experience.
