Description:
This position coordinates all aspects of the foster program. Fosters are a critical component of our life-saving work and help further capacity for care. This position is the primary contact for foster volunteers and supports and recruits fosters. The foster coordinator works collaboratively with staff in multiple departments for animals needing foster care and to support medical and behavioral needs. The foster coordinator also administers vaccinations, preventatives, and other medical care in accordance with APA policies and procedures. One year experience in animal health or welfare required and the ability to speak to medical and behavioral characteristics of dogs and cats. Veterinary technician certification preferred. Friendly customer service skills and computer literacy are also required. Must be able to lift 50lbs and stand for periods of five hours. This position starts at $19/hour, commensurate with experience. Licensed RVTs start at $21/hour commensurate with experience.
