Class Is In Session
Whether you’re a child or adult, there’s plenty to learn through the APA Adoption Center.
Our humane education programs serve people of all ages, from 1 to 101, with a special focus on teaching compassion and empathy towards animals. By providing educational programming of this nature, we advance animal welfare issues and create a world that is more kind to people and animals alike.
Lesson Plans
Shared concern for animals and similar educational goals led the APA Adoption Center to work with three other local animal organizations to develop a series of elementary level curricula. These lesson plans are free to download and can easily be implemented in a classroom setting.

We can also offer classes at our shelter or at your location. Our school age classes are aligned with Missouri Grade Level Expectations.

In addition to offering group classes for scout, school and community groups, the APA Adoption Center provides community education open to the public. Topics include safety with animals, adopting a pet and Animal Welfare 101. You can sign up for a public class as an individual adult, or bring your child to a family event.
