Part Time Social Media and Communications Intern for College Credit

The APA (Animal Protective Association) is seeking a motivated and creative Social Media and Communications Intern to join our team. This unpaid internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our mission of connecting people and pets through innovative communication strategies. This internship offers hands-on experience in social media management and communications, an opportunity to contribute to a positive impact on animal welfare and pet adoption as well as offer networking opportunities within the nonprofit and communications sectors. Under the supervision of the Director of Communications, you will play a vital role in shaping our online presence and promoting pet adoption.


– Assist in creating engaging content for various social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and more.

– Monitor and respond to comments and messages on social media channels.

– Collaborate with the communications team to develop and implement social media campaigns.

– Capture and edit visual content (photos, videos) for social media use.

– Assist in drafting press releases, articles, and other communications materials.

– Contribute to the planning and execution of special events and promotions.


– Pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field.

– Strong understanding of social media platforms and trends.

– Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

– Creativity and a passion for storytelling.

– Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.

– Familiarity with graphic design tools is a plus.
