PetSmart Charities
The APA is proud to partner with PetSmart Charities to help connect pets and people through in-store adoptions. Every year, hundreds of pets find loving homes at our local PetSmart partner stores—through adoption events, National Adoption Weeks, and the stores' Cat Adoption Centers, where families can meet and adopt feline companions year-round.

With a love for animals and a commitment to pet welfare, the Bissell Pet Foundation has been a cause of wagging tails everywhere since 2011. The foundation’s goal is to help reduce the number of animals entering shelters and to find a loving home for every pet. Pedigree Foundation
PEDIGREE Foundation envisions a day when all dogs are safe, secure, cared for, fed well, and loved. With their generous support of the APA’s Behavior & Enrichment program, we’re able to meet the physical and emotional needs of shelter dogs while teaching them behaviors that help get them adopted more quickly. We are grateful for the support PEDIGREE Foundation provides, and the families they help create.
Banfield Foundation
Since 2015, Banfield Foundation has been making preventive veterinary care possible for the pets that need it most. The APA is an honored grant recipient, enabling us to extend free spay/neuter services, vaccines, and flea & tick preventatives to hundreds of pet families in need who live in under-resourced communities in Saint Louis County.
Best Friends
For more than 30 years, Best Friends Animal Society has been running the nation’s largest sanctuary for companion animals, building programs that save lives and reduce the number of animals entering shelters. We are grateful for the support of Best Friends Animal Society, helping the APA prepare pets for safe, loving homes with new families who love them.
Humane World for Animals
Through partnerships, support, and collaboration, Humane World for Animals is increasing the capacity of animal welfare programs and building a more humane world for all. The APA is grateful for their support for our Pet Partners program, a community outreach program designed to empower and support our community, keeping pets in their homes with family—which is exactly where they belong.
VCA Charities
Like the APA, VCA Charities believes that every pet deserves a loving home, as well as care and comfort while waiting for one. We're proud to be a recipient of VCA Charities’ Second Chance KONG grant. Life in a shelter can be stressful for some dogs, but enrichment tools like KONG toys offer engaging, calming activities that help reduce anxiety and support their well-being as they wait to be adopted.
The Grey Muzzle Organization
Senior dogs belong with the people who love them. We're proud to be a recipient of The Grey Muzzle Organization's Staying Home Grant. This funding will help us provide support services that keep senior dogs safe, healthy, and with their families—preventing unnecessary shelter surrender and helping more dogs remain where they belong: at home.

The APA is excited to partner with Fetch Pet Insurance to help pet owners offset costs and provide more comprehensive and consistent vet care for their furry friends. New pet parents will receive a 10% discount when they sign up with Fetch Pet Insurance after adopting from the APA. Fetch offers several different types of pet insurance plans and coverage options, an online pharmacy, and telehealth appointments.
